Microsoft Teams and Visual Studio Code in Linux

Microsoft is one of the main proprietory software making companies that has never interested in opensource Softwares. Also, they have never supported the open-source software movement for major part of their journey. However, in the recent past, they have changed their attitude regarding the opensource software policy. They have introduced Windows Sub System for Linux that can run Linux software in Windows 10 environment. Apart from WSL two significant software releases for Linux are  Microsft Teams for Linux and Visual Studio Code for Linux.

Now Linux users can use the powerful capabilities of Microsft Teams and Visual Studio Code in Linux without installing any supporting platform like WINE. Also, all the features available for Windows users in those softwares are available for Linux Users too.

Anyone can simply install these two Softwares downloading from Microsoft website or using the software manager of your preferred Linux distro. Both the DEB version and RPM versions available for download. As a result of that, both Debian based distros and RedHat based distros can install these two software's. For a company like Microsoft who has never supported Opensource Project in the past doing such a thing is a highly encouraging thing for the FOSS world. Hope they don't have any hidden agendas behind this project and expect Microsoft to make more of their main Software Lines for Linux such as Office.
